Air force will be stronger under tension from China, India will buy 21 MiG and 12 Sukhoi

Amid tensions on the India-China border, the Modi government has taken a big step to strengthen the country’s military strength. The Defense Acquisition Council (DAC) has approved the proposal for the purchase of fighter jets and weapons.
In the Defense Acquisition Council meeting on Thursday, the proposal for the purchase of 21 MiG-29 and 12 Sukhoi (SU-30 MKI) fighter aircraft has been approved. Along with this, the upgrade of 59 MiG-29 fighter aircraft has also been approved.

MiG-29 fighter jets will be purchased from Russia. Also, the existing MiG-21 fighter aircraft will also be upgraded. About 7 thousand 418 crore rupees will be spent on this. At the same time, SU-30 MKI fighter aircraft will be purchased from HAL, which will cost 10 thousand 730 crore rupees.

The Defense Acquisition Council has approved the purchase of 38 thousand 900 crores in total. This important decision was taken on Thursday at the Defense Acquisition Council meeting headed by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. This decision of the Modi government will strengthen the Indian defense system.

The purchase of fighter jets and weapons will be done keeping in mind the ‘self-reliant India’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Hence, the Indian industry will also be included in the acquisition, focusing on indigenous design.
Of this, 31 thousand 130 crore rupees will be acquired from the Indian industry. Defense equipment will be made in India in collaboration with the Indian defense industry. MSME will also participate in it.
